Looks like I may actually be getting back into the habit of blogging again - don't hold your breath though! Let's see :-)
A 'sleep-in' of sorts begins by Sundays now... that's a 6/6.30 rising, instead of 5/5.30... trust me, that's a good thing!
Warm coffee, the wood fire burning, a cooked breakfast (today it's cheese pancakes & sour cream with fresh spring onions), then slow morning of pottering/playing/tidying together as a family before having naps and down time.
Off to fellowship with our church in the afternoon, finishing with dinner together before bring the children home to bed.
It's taken deliberate effort to achieve a day of rest like this, but oh so worth it!
We clean house most weeks on a Friday and at least 2 meals are cooked for our Sunday, before Sunday arrives... today we have soup for lunch and Taco Pie to take for church dinner.
Treasured days, these are :-)

Sunday at Home ~ Making the most of today
Having returned from a quick, last minute road trip to Sydney to 2 boys covered in chicken pox, I'll be staying home this morning instead of heading off to church with hubby & Melinda.
I'm very ready to focus on it being a Sunday at Home... time to bring calm and peace back into our world.
We came home to a tidy house just before 6pm last night but that has soon changed as we unloaded the hastily packed car. A tad chaotic here now - okay, more than that... VERY chaotic.
My plan is to potter around getting everything straightened and put away. We have beautiful worship music playing and I'll light my favourite scented candles shortly.
This afternoon we'll have family worship time together... hopefully some time out in the garden (need the sunshine to hang around for this) and prepare a lamb roast together for dinner. Lunch is already made - thank you mum :o) and maybe some time for reading...
A calm, joy-filled, peaceful day.
'Full steam ahead' can kick in after dinner as it usually does on a Sunday evening... there is much to be done... but until then.... a restful day.
Thank you Lord for Sundays

Feb 7th ~ Sunday at home
As the Sabbath has come to an end, once again, I am really enjoying preparations for the week ahead. I do find that when prepared well, the week goes so much more smoothly - so hoping this week follows suit! I need it to!
I've already finished the dishes, got the dishwasher on and am heading the children to bed.
This evening I will also be
-baking bread
-ironing
-sweeping & mopping
-time plan Monday
-check hubby's clothes for the week ahead
-Set some education goals
It's not housework, it's home making
and I choose to love it.

Sunday Afternoon Painting
The children just LOVE to paint... maybe because it really is an 'event' when it happens. Often when they ask, there's just not enough time to fit it in along with the packing up!
This first one is by Nathaniel - interesting picture, reminds me of the aerial views of the amazon which we're about to look at as part of our South America study in January

Also by Nathaniel - I'm keen to ask him about this one. Must make a mental note to do so.
I can't decide if it's one creature that is both green and yellow, or two creatures hugging?

There next two are both by Melinda - she loves to paint things she knows
Again - a painting of what she knows - her roads usually are going to somewhere specific though. Mental note: Ask her where!

What does your week look like?
I don't mean your schedule, events etc. What do I mean though? I guess I mean your sanity, your motivation, your sense of order and organisation.
I have a theory... based on what happens here, what I read of other people and just because. Just because it makes sense. To me.
Monday - The start of a new week. Planned, focused and organised
Tuesday - Because Monday was good we think we have it under control and Tuesday seems to just cruise
Wednesday - Because we let Tuesday cruise, there's a whole bunch of stuff that didn't get done. Add that to Wednesday's tasks and it's overwhelming, so not too much gets done
Thursday - We realise the week is almost over, so we get focused on some key tasks
Friday - Our last chance so we either spend the day as headless chooks to cram before the weekend or we throw up our hands with a 'why bother' because it's just not going to all get done.
Please tell me it's not just me...
The key day for me is Tuesday
Tuesday is the tipping point
Do Tuesday right and I can hold the week together
Don't do it right and the whole week can unravel
What day is your undoing?

Sunday's at Home
I am really looking forward to today - even though we've had a change of plans. We were to be going to Geelong so I could attend a friend's baby shower but my back is still not good enough from last week to handle the 1.5-2hours in the car each way :(
When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
And so with that, it's on with our day!
Church this morning - leaving here in about an hour. I am really enjoying this church.
Then this afternoon I have a fun craft activity to do with the children, I will start baking some sourdough bread and I am going to deal with the paperwork 'hot spot' that is growing.
Lunch is leftovers and dinner will be Irish stew with dumplings... a great 'comfort' meal.
Pete's going to clear out some of the gutters and do a bit more sorting in the garage.
Well, I must be off - need to check that the kitchen is done before we head off for church!
